The footage above is gameplay capture from the 2012 E3 demo of Star Wars 1313. The game demo received a number of E3 awards including GameSpot’s “Best of E3 Editor’s Choice Award.
The above work was a work-in-progress gameplay capture that highlighted the living world game-play in StarWars 1313.
The gameplay capture above was used to sell the “environmental interaction” animation pillar in Star Wars 1313.
This is a bit of my favorite gameplay pulled from the 1313 E3 demo. It features a handcrafted gameplay section I directed while at LucasArts.
This video was used to visually communicate our 1313 Animation High Bar. The mission was to take a section of game-play (shown below) and recreate it to highlight our three animation pillars. Those pillars were: Environmental Interactions, Situational Awareness and Character Relationships.
Above is the raw gameplay capture we used as the starting point in our animation high bar.
I directed the Star Wars 1313 in-game animation team as well as running the Motion Capture performances and animation pipeline.
